Agreement and provider
These Terms of Service govern your use of pdfeditor for Android, provided by us ("we", "us" or "our"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
These terms apply subject to mandatory consumer and privacy rights in your jurisdiction. They do not override those rights or replace any consent required for personal-information processing. Our Privacy Policy explains the app's data practices and is available through Settings > Privacy Policy.
The service
The app lets you find, view and organize supported local documents, keep reading history and bookmarks, play supported local audio, scan documents, and use tools such as Image to PDF, Word to PDF, Merge PDF and Split PDF. Features depend on the file format, device, Android version, permissions, available resources and services such as Google Play services.
The app is supported by advertising and uses analytics, attribution, configuration and messaging services as explained in the Privacy Policy. This release has no app account, subscription or in-app purchase. Your service provider may charge for network use. A future paid service would require a clear price and purchase authorization.
App configuration can vary by version, availability and installation source. In this release, installation-source classification affects advertising and reminder behavior and whether supported audio and PDF tasks can continue in the background. Do not assume that every task continues after leaving the app. The Persistent notification control described below is available to all users.
Eligibility and permitted use
You must have legal authority to use the app and accept these terms, including required parental or guardian authorization if you are a minor. The app is not directed to children under 13. Organizational use requires the organization's permission and compliance with its document rules.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the app for lawful personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these terms. The app and its branding remain the property of us or our licensors. Open-source components remain subject to their applicable licenses; these terms do not take away rights those licenses grant you.
Your files and permissions
You retain ownership of your documents, images, audio and generated files. You must have the rights needed to access, modify, convert, print and share them. File access enables the features you request; information processing remains subject to the Privacy Policy, applicable permissions and consent requirements.
You can deny or revoke file access in Android settings. Features that depend on that access may then be unavailable. A broad file-access permission enables the app to find supported files across accessible shared storage, not just a single file. Use sharing, renaming and deletion controls carefully, and check the file and destination before confirming an action.
Background operation and notifications
Persistent notification is enabled by default. When enabled and the required access is available, it supports background observation of local document changes and a notification with document and tool shortcuts. While enabled, the resident service may attempt to resume after interruption, app updates or device restart, subject to Android restrictions. Continuous operation is not guaranteed.
You can turn it off at Settings > Persistent notification. The choice is saved, the resident service and its recovery attempts stop, its notification is removed, and ongoing background document observation is disabled. This does not cancel a scan or operation already running. Ordinary document use and refresh remain available while the app is open.
The setting does not turn off separate reminders, remote messages, advertising, analytics, or an audio or PDF task you started. Where available, those tasks have their own notifications and stop or cancel controls. Android notification settings control display, but denying display does not necessarily stop the underlying service or SDK. See the Privacy Policy for the effect of each control.
Notifications may include app reminders or promotional content and depend on permissions and system restrictions. Check an operation's actual result in the app rather than relying solely on a notification.
Output accuracy and backups
Review files after scanning, conversion, merging or splitting before relying on or distributing them. Complex layouts, fonts, images, formulas, page breaks and unsupported features may change or fail to render. Viewing a file in the app does not verify its authenticity, legal validity or completeness. The app is not a professional legal, financial or document-certification service.
Keep independent backups of important files. A device interruption, insufficient storage, permission change or unsupported input can interrupt processing. Confirm that an output was saved and opens correctly before deleting a source file. Clearing app storage or uninstalling may remove private history, settings and temporary files; files exported to shared storage and copies held by other services may remain.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to violate applicable law or another person's intellectual-property, privacy or other rights. Do not distribute malicious files, interfere with the app or its services, generate fraudulent advertising activity, or attempt unauthorized access. Restrictions on modifying or reverse engineering the app apply only to the extent allowed by law and the relevant software licenses.
You are responsible for content you process or share. Remove passwords and unrelated personal information from any files sent to support.
Advertising and external services
Third-party ads can lead to external apps, websites or services. An ad is not our endorsement or guarantee of the advertiser's claims. Review its terms and privacy practices before providing information or purchasing. Our legal responsibilities for ads displayed in the app remain unchanged.
Google Play services, the scanner, sharing or printing destinations and backup providers may apply their own terms. A selected destination controls its handling of your file. We cannot retrieve every shared copy or guarantee external-service availability. Our privacy obligations remain applicable.
Availability and changes
We may issue updates or change features to improve the app, fix faults, address security issues, or meet legal and platform requirements. We will provide any notice or remedy required by law for a material change. Device limits, operating-system restrictions, connectivity and external-service availability can affect operation.
We may restrict online features where reasonably necessary for security, misuse or legal obligations, subject to your mandatory rights. You can stop using the app at any time. Uninstalling does not automatically erase shared files, recipients' copies or providers' records. See the Privacy Policy for deletion requests.
Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that every document will display or convert without error, that the app will always be available, or that every output will suit your particular purpose. This does not exclude statutory guarantees or any express commitment we have made that is enforceable under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. No exclusion in these terms applies to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable protections for intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence, personal injury or mandatory consumer rights. Your legal remedies remain available where a limitation is prohibited. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a waiver of a class action or other non-waivable procedural right.
Disputes and other terms
Contact us so we can try to resolve a problem. You retain rights to contact regulators and pursue legal remedies under applicable law and jurisdiction rules. Consumers are not required by these terms to litigate exclusively in a foreign country.
An unenforceable provision applies only to the lawful extent; the remainder continues where legally possible. Non-enforcement on one occasion is not a general waiver. Applicable privacy rights, software-license rights and mandatory consumer protections remain intact.
Updates to these terms and contact
We may update these terms and will show the new effective date. For material changes, we will provide notice and obtain acceptance where required by applicable law. Revised terms do not retroactively remove rights or replace any separate privacy consent that is required. You may stop using the app if you do not accept a change.
